In 2007, a P-Lining® refractory design was installed on a vessel roof. Previously the refractory was failing every 6-12 months. The new design is performing beyond expectations and it is expected to have a life between 4-6 years based on current trends.
After winning the company's Excellence Award, the Railton Shutdown Manager said, "It is the best performance since the construction of the cyclone in 1980" and "our expectations are to get 3-5 year life out of the TAC roof refractory".
